New Year Greetings 2010
On behalf of Kanefusa, I am very grateful for the kindness you showed
us last year. I hope you had wonderful moments with your family and friends
during the holidays.
When you have a look at the world situation of last year - since the subprime
loan crisis in 2007, Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. was forced to
go under in 2008 - the economy in general faltered because of the confusion
of the world monetary economy.
We suffered a weakening of the dollar against the yen and Japan has experienced
a change of the government - all these drastic changes happened in
rapid succession and had therefore a big impact to our business, too.
I see the situation recovering from the severe recession but still it remains in
balance. In the meantime a lot of domestic manufacturing industries may
continue to consider an output cut.
Fortunately, the market conditions of countries with growing economy like
China, India and South-East Asia tend to recover and Kanefusa will actively
develop our strategy in these areas.
What I repeatedly explain and expect from all our staffs are to act as a unit
and show their manpower and their own abilities as professionals. I’m
confident that it is possible to achieve results with our customers without
hesitation or anxiety.
Last year, we have launched a new sales and re-sharpening service
center in India. I even believe that it is the only strategy to ensure the survival
and start a new process with a ”Real global company” instead of a
“Global company”. I have a high degree of trust that it is very important
to be a “Global No.1 machinery knife manufacturer”, who is recognized by
anyone. For this goal, we share thebusiness challenges for this year with
all staffs and will carry it out.
I hope 2010 will be happy and prosperous for you and your family.
