Kanefusa - Winner of the OUTSTANDING TECHNICAL AWARD

Kanefusa Corporation receives the OUTSTANDING TECHNICAL AWARD at Mokkiten 2007, Nagoya, Japan. The award was given to us for the development of a new knife design for our ENSHIN planer head.

Tungsten Carbide knives for self-locking planer heads such, as the ENSHIN usually have a solid structure. Based on our profound knowledge of forging, welding and brazing, we have developed a new structure for Tungsten Carbide knives. Only the very cutting edge is made from Tungsten Carbide, the rest of the knife is made from steel. The new design allows the use of a more durable Tungsten Carbide grade, which increases the performance by 50 % against conventional solid Tungsten Carbide knives when cutting tropical timber, hardwoods or laminated wood.

Sale of the knives will start in Japan from January 2008 and outside Japan later in 2008.
