Naturally we also organize or take part in local community activities such as the annual cleaning of the historical Gojokawa-river.
Endless numbers of sakura (cherry) trees lines both sides of the riverbank. The river and the riverbank are a vital part of the local community.
Besides being the perfect place for a walk and to meet with other people, it is the venue for many festivals during the year.
For more than 400 years, the "nonbori" craftsmen of Iwakura have been using the icy water of the river to make the bold design
of the "nonbori" more vivid.
